Our Sixth Annual Toy Drive event is over this year and we're very proud to announce that this year we collected almost 260 items worth over $2,100 and collected $390 in cash donations making this year's total over $2,500 in donations for Toys for Tots!!

 

We'd like to thank everyone with Toys ''R'' Us, the Mall of Louisiana, Bast Alpha Garrison, Dagobah Base "Rebel Legion Louisiana and Mississippi", Jason Sobol, Lucasfilm Ltd. and or course everyone who donated this year! Plus, if you didn't get the chance to purchase a patch - we will soon be opening them up for sale for a limited time to everyone so stay tuned!

The first totals are in for this year's toy drive and we've collected over 65 items worth over $580 and $70 in cash donations! Considering we were on the end of the mall and had to deal with a difficult train that loved to barrel though frequently - this was a great start. We are really looking forward to next Saturday and know that we're going to have a huge turn-out, we hope you can come out and donate!

Once again it's coming up on the holidays and that means it's time for our Sixth Annual Christmas Toy Drive! This year we will be working with the Marines of the local Toys For Tots foundation and will be out at the Toys"R"Us stores! Our first toy drive will be at the Toys"R"Us Express in the Mall of LA, 11/10/12 from 10am - 4pm and our second toy drive date will be at the Toys"R"Us main store in the Siegen Marketplace on 11/17/12 from 11am - 4pm.

First, we'd like to say that we know that the second drive is the same day as the St. Jude's Walk - but we have done this in the past and it's actually a great opportunity to support two awesome causes in the same day! So start out at the Walk, then come on over to the toy drive!

This yearly event has brought in over $12,000 worth of donations in the last 5 years and it always amazes us every year how generous people can be - especially when Darth Vader is there to persuade them to donate! So we're looking forward to see how much we can get donated this year!

So come on out and see your favorite Star Wars characters, take pictures and donate a new, unwrapped toy! Tomorrow's the big day! If you're helping out (signed up for an event, aren't signed up but want to help or bringing food) be sure and be at the Jones Creek Library between 10:30 and 11:00. Costume Fan Day is only about a week away and we need everyone's help! There's now a volunteer signup sheet available with all the events that we have this year so please head there and sign up today! We need everyone's help to make sure we have all the events manned. We're working with the Corsair group and the LAGB group as well so please head over and sign up for something! You should be able to use your Facebook account - if you don't have one or have any problems, please just let Karen or myself (Wayne) know and we'll update it for you.
